Four ways of seeing the same landscape.

About the work

Fifty years of the
same landscape.

I’ve been photographing Monmouthshire, the Usk valley and the Brecon Beacons for over twenty years. The same hills, the same river, the same canal – but never quite the same light twice. That’s what keeps you going back.

The drone added a dimension that changed everything. The landscape you’ve walked a hundred times looks completely different from 400 feet. The Usk in flood, the patchwork of Monmouthshire fields at golden hour, Goytre Wharf with the sun sitting on the horizon.

All prints produced on fine art stock through Gelato and shipped directly to you.

The kit

“The best camera is the one that gets you out of the way of the shot.”

Ground level work is shot on Canon DSLRs – the 70D and 90D depending on the job. Drone work is DJI Mini 3 Pro. The light painting and steel wool are long exposure work, usually on a tripod in the dark in a field somewhere in Monmouthshire, which is exactly as good as it sounds.

The photography archive runs to thousands of images across more than twenty years. What’s here is a curated selection available as fine art landscape photography prints.
